American Dreams tonight -
Jack's (the dad) older brother has been injured in a car accident and is struggling with the decision to take his brother off a respirator (a new technology in 1966). He's spoken to his priest who told him the Church's opinion was that the family must make the decision and that it "isn't right to keep someone alive just because we love them".

Interesting timing.

2. My husband and I remarked of the incredible timing
of this episode. What is interesting is just yesterday we were discussing that 40 - 50 years ago the Terri Schiavo case never would have happened. She would have died long ago, but with the technology we now have now she was kept alive much longer than she could have ever been in decades past. People used to die peacefully at home, oh the "good ole days"
