I am having one of my crappy weeks . I need a hug or a drink .
Work has been slow and when there is work to do at work , its not given out fairly . The people who have been there the longest , get away with murder and its not fair . The rest of us new hires are tired of watching them eat cake in our faces - I feel like smacking people . We ( the new hires ) out number the old hires and we do majority of the work . The only time I see the old hires is at clock in time , break time and clock out time - Where are they when there is the WORKING time . They are always praised but they don't do anything . They are there just picking up a pay check and its not fair . I refuse to kiss up to the supervisors or bosses just to feel like I have a friend at the top . If I don't have anything to say to you , I don't say anything . I am sure the boss has other things to do than to hear me suck up . Yes I am venting - I just hate lazy people . I feel depressed for no reason , I could cry at any moment now . I just finished a pan of brownies and I still don't feel good lol . Is it a full moon or a new moon , I always feel like this when there is an astrological or planetary change . Oh yeah , my biological clock is ticking , all I have been thinking about is babies . What is wrong with me ? BTW , Bush sucks . Because of him my boyfriend is in Iraq . Bah , this is going to be a long week . End of rant ... I need more brownies lol .

2. They aren't those "special" brownies that we sent you, are they?
If so, I would advise that you not go to work tomorrow. I'm just sayin'. :)

6. reminds me of a great story from grad school....
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 01:37 AM by mike_c
Friend of mine gets a call at the lab from his girlfriend, who is calling from his house. She let herself in. Calls to say she's looking for him because she's on her way to visit family or something and does he want to come along? Oh by the way, "I rummaged around looking for something to eat and all I could find was a bunch of brownies in the freezer. Hope you don't mind that I ate about half of them...."

True story. She was talked into cancelling the family visit before she entered a transitory but enjoyable vegetative state.

5. Hey Peridot: *Big HUG*
It's good to vent now and then, innit?

And it's good to eat a whole tray of brownies now and then, also. Lord knows I've taken out a tray or two in my day!

If my SO was in Iraq, I'd be ranting every damn day!
You must really have some self-control to keep it together so well.

7. Yeah its good to rant .
Not only do I rant here , but I gave a piece of my mine at work before I left . I might be one of the youngest but I was'nt raised a fool and I refuse to let people walk over me .

I have self control because I have to believe that everything is gonna be alright . Believe me , I break down every now and then , sometimes all of a sudden I just start crying . The only thing I can do is let it all out because if I don't , I would break apart - and thats not good for myself nor is it good for my BF because if he hears me in pain over the phone , that would distract him . And distraction would lead to him not getting his work done and I want him to be alright . I am just PMSing I think LOL .

12. Ah, PMS..the three most frightening letters in the male language!
I share your belief that somehow, someway...everything really _IS_ gonna be alright.
We might have to deal with alot of shit to get there, but we WILL get there.

These are bad times, and getting worse. But people have seen WORSE times than these, and seen good days follow.

We work together, we help each other...sometimes we just listen to each other RANT.
And we get by, one day at a time.

Back in the '70s, I remember my Mom had a cartoon pasted into one of her scrapbooks...it showed two 'gangster' types, who seemed to be holed-up in a shootout with the cops.
Their backs are to the wall, guns drawn, as they peek around the edges of a window that has bullets flying in through it...

And one of them is saying:
"Y'know, someday we're gonna look back at this and LAUGH..."

Someday, we will look back at the Bush regime and LAUGH.
Not any day soon, certainly, but SOMEDAY.

Until then, we just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other!

21. staying in bed and crying sounds good
he called me this morning before he left the country (or before he had to turn off his cell) to say a last good-bye. I was on the to work and had a f* hard time not to cry in the underground. My make-up is not waterproof :)

And yes, please send some brownies over. That would be great

22. The night that I got that call was the worse ever ...
The time went by fast . I was able to talk to him for 2 hours but it seemed like 10 seconds . That was the first time that I had ever heard nervousity in his voice but he told me that I made him calm . In the background I could hear telephones going off and it was the calls of the soldiers loved ones . When my bf and I hang up , we never say " bye " , we say " later " . And we said " later " , " later " over and over again for at least 5 minutes . Ahh I think I better add some ice cream to those brownies .

23. we didn't really say good-bye either
he told me he loves me and that he tries to get in contact as soon as possible once he is at his destination. It might take some time though. He didn't even wanted to see me last night because it would have been too painful to seperate this morning. I think it was hard enough for him to hear me cry on the phone. Seeing me like this would have been even worse. When we talked last night on the phone he tried to distract me by asking me questions unrelated to his trip. Worked a bit but not for long.

A two hour phone call is great!!!! Was that call already from the Iraq or was he still in the States then?

And please add a lot of ice cream on the brownies.

25. Adding a lot of ice cream to the brownies ...
Edited on Wed Mar-23-05 03:01 AM by CarolinaPeridot
He was still in the States . And he told me that he was relunctant to call me on the night that he deployed with his unit because it would have been so hard . I understood why . But I think I would have been extra hurt if he did not call before he deployed ( I don't like to say " left " or " leaved " either lol ) but I understand - he had to put himself in the mindset of being a soldier and etc . But still ... The first time that I heard from him while he was in the Middle East was on Valentine's Day . I was so HAPPY when I got that e-mail . It took about 2 1/2 weeks before I heard from him . Those were some long weeks I tell you . The first phone call that I got from him while he was in Iraq I was so giddy and excited that I was slurring over words like a little kid . I almost missed his call LMAO . I was about to wash the dishes and something told me to go into my room and when I did , I saw my cell phone display flashing . It was him calling me - leaving me voicemails telling me that he is going to call until I answered . Those dishes were the last thing on my mind that day lol . Thank God for telephones . Usually we make phone dates so I know when to expect his calls but one day a week ago , he called me without letting me know and I was so happy . Other people may think I am crazy but hearing from him makes my day :)

27. I believe you that
I know it will make my days when I hear from my bf.
He knew how important his phonecall this morning was for me. Even though we didn't talk long. He had to run and I know it was as hard for him as it was for me. I think he tries to focus on his job right now. I don't know when I will hear from him. I got his militay adress last night so I can send him snail mails. Check you pm, I can tell you there some more.
