U2 Kicks off World Tour...
Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 09:35 PM by Jack_Dawson
in the city where I reside. And...I don't have tickets.

And...this troubles me.

28.03.2005 San Diego, CA
29.03.2005 San Diego, CA

Should I fork out for a broker...or try and be the 9th caller? I hate this so much.

3. They've added more shows
I think it's 6 total in Boston (3 in spring, 3 in fall), and same for NYC.
It's ridiculous. Not even Springsteen can match this.
BTW, I'm selling an x-tra ticket for a Boston show.

For the Dallas show it was sold out in minutes. I had seen these guys for every album tour starting with "War" up to Zooropa then after that I haven't been lucky enough to score tickets.

And for all those that jump on the price of tickets being too high, I just shelled out $150.00 to see the Blue's Clues tour, a children's show. So it is not just super popular bands gouging the consumer. It unfortunately seems to be the price of touring and the sponsorship that goes with it.

I wouldn't pay a broker though. But I would check what the tickets actually cost compared to what the broker is charging to see if the difference is worth it to you.

6. Maybe Bono's social work to better the world
is penance for the outrageous ticket prices.

9. I've been to a U2 show...
and without saying "they deserve every penny" I WILL say...it was a great show and they ARE the Biggest Band in the World - and Progressives. So...I don't really have a problem w/ the price.

As with all things monetary, let The Market decide.

7. I saw the..."Pop" tour?
I think that was their "weak" album, although I totally dug it. Crap-ass seats, but the show itself (1 hour) will always stay with me. Damn I think I'm gonna fork out.

Or reasonably so....but not until October!

If you know what I had to do to get those flippin' tickets, and I am a super secret club member and everything!

Edited to add, my tickets are for the worst fucking seats in the whole arena....but anyway....at least Paris Hilton and the scalpers have theirs!

13. Four tickets for $760.
The only thing we added to the price is the $40 fan club membership fee that enabled us to buy them. These tickets were almost twice the price we paid for the Dublin show.

16. I'd like some cheese with my WHINE
U2 is finally coming to Seattle. U2, however, is playing the worst venue in the Pacific Northwest -- KEY ARENA. I wouldn't go to see Elvis, Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix on the same bill in Key Arena. The acoustics are awful, the seating's worse, and we shelled out $150 last year to see Tony Bennett there -- he sounded like he was singing through a tin can. (There will be a special place in Hell for the owners of Key Arena for THAT one.) I will NEVER understand why U2 wasn't booked into Qwest Field; it holds 70,000+ and has the latest and greatest of sound and acoustics.

I am absolutely brokenhearted that I can't see U2 in my hometown, especially in a venue that would truly make it a memorable evening instead of one that would be the aural equivalent of fingernails down a blackboard.

Waaaaaaah.

Julie

18. Key Arena...
like...where the Sonics play? Oh come ON it must be GREAT acoustically. (J/K). Same deal here in SD. They're playing at the "Sports Arena" which is where our MINOR LEAGUE hockey team plays. Ouch.
