Explain this: I don't care for strawberry shortcake, but I love
fresh biscuits with butter and strawberry jam.

What's wrong with me?

6. real strawberry shortcake is made from baking power biscuits
with a little sugar added to the dough. That stuff they sell in the supermarket doesn't qualify.

24. Definitely real cream!
When we got married, my husband thought he didn't LIKE whipped cream! It turns out that his only experience with "whipped cream" was Cool Whip and possibly some canned Reddi Whip at some point.

Our first Thanksgiving together, I whipped real cream for the pumpkin pie and he was amazed. He loved it. I only serve real whipped cream with strawberry shortcake.

He likes his whipped cream sweeter than I do, though - I prefer just a scant amount of sugar.

2. Or maybe you just don't like whole strawberries.
:9

I don't care much for fresh tomatoes (mostly 'cause what's in the markets are Pi-Ti-FUL), but I'll eat tomato sauce, tomato soup, spaghetti sauce, and ketchup.

8. Yep, I think I would like it warm. For example, as I said I love
warm biscuits and jam. Also love belgian waffles with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and strawberries.

10. Strawberries in any form are a wish for the Revolution
Because when the Revolution Comes you will like Strawberries and Sweet Cream--

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=1669854

I have increased my fresh strawberries, frozen strawberries, strawberry shortcake, strawberry yogurt, strawberry icecream, strawberry jam (bagels, english muffins, sourdough bread) everytime the Bushies do something stupid.

I am getting myself ready for the Revolution.

20. I once had a BBQ to celebrate a friends bday and we planned to
serve strawberry shortcake. The roommate of said bday friend invited a few of his friends whom we had never met before that night. No sweat...we bought extra everything for them and cooked for them as well. This small group was an absolute flop. We are really social (dare i say fun) people and did everything we could to include them and make them feel welcome. They stuck to a small corner on a rather large deck. After drinking much of our beer and eating our food, they abruptly left. I went in the kitchen for a beer and noticed that all of the shortcake was missing. I could still hear them just in front of the house, so i went to the front porch. Those fuckers were getting in their car and shoving that shortcake in their pieholes! They saw me, yelled something rather rude, threw the trash in the yard and left! Never in my wildest dreams have I ever met such rude assholes before.

Fast forward a few years. I'm at bday's new house with his wife enjoying a rather large party. I sit down in the back and introduce myself to a small group. My friend says "hey..you remember him, he stole all the shortcake!" So, I ask the guy why he did it and he says "who gives a shit about your shortcake, it's such a white trash thing to make anyway." I told him he "was a hateful, miserable fuck who i'm sure kharma would take care of....oh wait...looking at your wife, i guess it already has!"

People........rudest effin' shortcake story you've ever heard?

30. You are never going to guess what my host made for dessert tonight!
Strawberry Shortcake! made with biscuits (sugar and milk added) of course. They were awesome, if you like that sort of thing, which I know you don't...but I seriously haven't had them for YEARS, and right before I leave the house, this thread...and then...bam! First time at their house for dinner ever.

I thought it an interesting coincidence!
