A box came today. And inside... my books!
You're looking at the ramblings of a proud new member of the Scientific American book club.
I got this introductory 5 book set. "The Edge of Physics" collection.
For 5.99!! All 5 books for 5.99 (plus S&H) if you agree to buy 2 more books at regular prices in the next 2 years. (Jeez, I think I can swing that. Probably will get even more than that)
It includes: "Fabric of the Cosmos" - Brian Green
"The Elegant Universe" - Brian Green
(which I have actually already read, but gave my copy to my dad)
"The Quantum World - (Quantum Physics for Everyone)" - Kenneth W. Ford
"Constants in Nature" - John D. Barrow
(REALLY looking forward to that one. It goes on about certain constants set in nature, for example the mass of a proton, and how that if any one of those was slightly off, the universe could not even exist as it does)
Last but not least, "Einstein's Cosmos" - Micho Kaku
They are hardcovers, too. They are actually smaller versions of the hardcovers... exactly the same, but about 80 percent of the actual size. All the illustrations and full text is there though as it should be. What a sweet ass deal. Heck, I don't mind them being 20% smaller.
And to top it all off, my new Popular Science issue came also. Man I can just immerse myself in science, physics and cosmology. Tomorrow morning I am gonna go sit down at the beach at my little spot where I sit on the wall sometimes and read and listen to the surf, and socialize with people's dogs when they walk them by.
