Sounds like something a philosophy student with just enough physics to be dangerous would say, after smoking a coupla bowls.

I can't say I've heard that one before, but it might have something to do with the debate on whether a conscious observer is required to collapse a wave function.

That argument is tripe, anyway. Any measurement will collapse the wave function, regardless of your checking the instrument or not.

Tell your friend that all variants of chemistry are merely applied atomic and molecular physics. :evilgrin:
