4. And trampling the fragile environment.
Cheat and trample. Cheat and trample. Cheat and trample. Cheat and trample. Cheat and trample. Cheat and trample. Cheat and trample.

And the weird thing is, it makes them feel proud and happy to do it.

2. Great song.
From their album "A Quick One", which was retitled "Happy Jack" for the US market.

3. OMG, you make me feel so old!
You didn't know it was the Who. (I'm not knocking you, I wouldn't know anybody from the 80's onward apart from a few like Nirvana, Sound Garden, etc.)

5. That song is RUINED now
Imperial Amerika will be known fr it ever-more-debased culture, in which entertainment and advertiseent will be fused. Hell, we're almost there now.

I miss the Old Republic, but clearly it was dying for at least 15 years before it actually perished 12-12-2000.

and the commercial is amusing until you consider the content. Kid is secretively building his monster machine. He cheats, runs over the environment, then hogs the road (exerts his dominance) with his sheer size. Horrible crap. And, of course, since Bus* made a tax exemption just for the that vehicle (has that EVER been done before?), sales are way up and the Hummer folks can continue to have the funds to make more and more socially irresponsible commercials to compliment their socially irresponsible vehicle.

and, its ugly, too.

14. and now most kids have never heard of wings
Its supposed to be a true story that a daughter of Paul's came home with a boyfriend that played in a band. Making the Dad, boyfriend coming to steal the daughter small talk the kid said to Paul - "So, I understand you were in a band when you were young".

12. Does anyone remember "The Who Sell Out?"
REMARKABLY prescient lp. The cover featured Moon with a giant tube of pimple cream, Daltrey in a tub of Heinz baked beans, etc. The whole concept was the group as a vehicle for advertising.

WHO KNEW?

:wow:

PS: IS FedEx going to use "Call Me Lightning?" Stay tuned..

13. God, what a great album.
Done in the manner of a "pirate" radio station from the 60s.

Entwistle as a "body builder" and Townshend with a big tube of Odorono deodorant.

"Radio London reminds you..go to the church of your choice."

I always liked "Maryanne With The Shaky Hands".
