4. The trick is to wait until about 11 p.m.

Then drink masses of strong sweet coffee, then write the paper during that sugar-caffeine rush, and hand it in when the buildings first open in the morning. Then go and sleep all day.

That's what I did on at least a couple of occasions.

It does assume that you know roughly what you want to say, and that you have absorbed the relevant information as you won't be in a fit mental state to assimilate new sources or trains of thought.
