or do all these reich wing republicans on tv who give charitable donations (up to the millions but is a pittance of how much they really make) do it in a vein attempt to feel better for the insecurities set in by whats left of thier humanity from the hundreads, to thousands they have destroyed to get thier millions in the first place?

I think charity always has a component of making the giver feel good. I think that's inescapable. I don't think it necessarily takes away from the good-deed part of the gift--that is, the gift still does the good it was intended to.

That said, I don't know if rightwingers have feelings of insecurity about their humanity as much as they have feelings of smugness about their righteousness.

2. i think its a bit of both

they get to feel smug and superior, while also feeding the malnourished remaining part of thier humanity by doing somethng positive, and thier own fear of dragging themselves as low as doing manual labor by just writing a check
