EDITED: Is the April 22nd-23rd Boston Gathering the DU Woodstock?
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 04:25 PM by WilliamPitt
If so, which original Woodstock performer would JimmyJazz be?

I wanted to add an edit to this to add a suggestion for a location. I don't know if a place has been picked, but if not, I offer Bukowski's tavern as an option. It is a great beer-and-wine bar on the corner of Boylston and Dalton Streets, right next to the Heinz Convention Center. There is a parking garage right next to the place, and there are three different train stations nearby.

The Sox are away at Tampa Bay those days, so we won't have to compete with the Fenway crowd for parking and bar space. Best of all, I know all the bartenders really well, so it would be a home base of sorts. Finally, if we go there, people can buy this t-shirt:

&.src=ph

These are Bukowski's shirts, sold only in this bar.

Discuss.

12. they can get in but not drink
people bring their kids to bars in Cambridge-it's pretty common in Irish bars to see kids with their dads while English football is on the telly.

it would suck to travel a distance and find out one couldnt get in because they weren't 21. I can't keep up with all the rules in all the different states that I frequent. I get carded when i buy my sister cigs and I am (cough) waaaaay over 18.Anyways I guess you all can pretend to be my newly adopted Irish children at the bar! I make a cool dad...

not that The People's Republik isn't welcoming, but this is may turn into a well needed overnight for us (Come on raise.... come on bonus from work...) and I'd love to have someplace to go that, were we to not dress like hobos, wouldn't look out of place.

if things work out the way I hope we'll be overnighting at the Park Plaza, right near legal seafood and there is a good restaurant in the hotel itself. But when we hang with the DU crowd I'd love it if we were all at a nice bar.

Nice bars are good.

42. People's Republik isn't my style either
the reason we pick it is itstheme and location-DUers know where it is. I would prefer a bar with a nice wine list, but usually the only places open on Saturday afternoon are Irish bars, sports bars, and dumps.

47. What about some place with a decent wine list and food?
Grafton Street in Harvard Square
Mr. Dooley's on Broad Street Downtown
Miracle of Science in Cambridge
Clery's (site of DNC Gathering)

I like Bukowski's (cheap bar food) but the music is loud so it's not very conducive to conversations (and the wine list sucks). But I want one of those T-shirts!!!
