ozzy story
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 03:00 PM by paagal kutta
its late night here. the wife is flipping the tv in the other room while i work on a script. a while back i heard ozzy osbourne sing and walked over to the tv. his video for "get me through" is playing in one of the music channels. if you have seen the video, you'd agree is typical ozzy-gore. my wife's musical interests veer towards bach and chopin (she's also quite a sentimental sweetie).
she absolutely loathed her first sight of ozzy and his wild antics in the video. i got in a word sideways and said - "but baby you know he has a very good song called 'mama i'm coming home' - its very poignant, and when i was a kid i used to feel so good listening to it."
and she says - "if i were his mama i'd hide under the bed at the thought of my hideous son coming home!"
now that's some perspective. made me laugh. i need a few at one am sitting and working.

1. ozzy is one of the best things to ever happen to Hard Rock IMO
From the CD No More Tears

Ozzy Osbourne Mama, I'm Coming Home lyrics

Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come, but I ain't the same
Mama, I'm coming home
Times gone by seem to be
You could have been a better friend to me
Mama, I'm coming home

You took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes

You made me cry, you told me lies
But I can't stand to say goodbye
Mama, I'm coming home
I could be right, I could be wrong
Hurts so bad, it's been so long
Mama, I'm coming home

Selfish love yeah we're both alone
The ride before the fall
But I'm gonna take this heart of stone
I just got to have it all

CHORUS
I've seen your face a hundred times
Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm coming home
I'm coming home

You took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes

CHORUS
I've seen your face a hundred times
Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah
'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm coming home
I'm coming home

5. Yes I think Lemmy helped pen four songs on No More Tears
Ozzy always goes for the Best when he heads for the Studio.

was Ozzy in Seattle on the No More Tours tour.

It was unreal from start to finish the audience was up on it's feet singing along to every song.

The energy in the place was amazing.

Ozzy was in top form that night ( seen 4 previous Ozzy shows )

It's my best concert memory to date.

He puts on one hell of a show !
