Before I tell this story, you should know I work for an independently owned radio station. The competition works for a huge corp. I know for a fact I make more than the people there because I know an ex-employee. Plus independent stations often make more because they are owned by humans.


I was a the "Club" with the competition, I know the reporter from that station. So, some guy that works at his station finds out I work at the station I do and says, "I"m sorry to hear that," in some smart ass tone.

So I just smiled and said, "Hey, I'm make make more than both of you. What do you think of that?"

End of conversation, not that that "shut him up." I just don't think he was expectin the same attitude back.

I'm a reporter...in BC a reporter wants to work at eithe CKNW, CKWX, or CBC.

CKNW is number one. My station is on their network, so I know all the guys there that would be able to get me a job...these guys, who do they know? NOT A FUCKING SOUL outside their own company. Who own SHIt in Vancouver.

So let's see, I get paid more, my boss gives me free reign and I make better connections plus they dont even get to do live casts... yeah buddy, "Sorry to hear that"
