Ugh. I had oral surgery yesterday... impacted wisdom tooth and the adjacent tooth both removed... using instruments that must've said "Black & Decker" on the side by the. (Even though I had my eyes closed the whole time because I knew I'd panic if I caught a glimpse of the equipment.)
Now I have stitches in my mouth on one side.
I already had some yogurt yesterday and today I've graduated to mashed potatoes. (man do KFC mashed & gravy ever taste good when you've had nothing but yogurt for 24 hours)
I guess these are the kind of stitches that just disolve after a while. I can't see anything in there really, but my tongue keeps feeling as though there's some loose thread in my mouth. But it cant be. I've been so careful, and it's not bleeding or anything. Could the stitches be dissolving already? It's been about 30 hours. I think my mind is playing tricks on me. I am afraid to look, because I doon't want to pull out the stitches trying to get a better view. I am all paranoid. :scared:
How long does your mouth take to heal? When do the stitches disolve? Will I end up spitting out little pieces of stitches?
(Man I wish I could devour a steak right now :-( )
On the bright side.. I am glad the ordeal is over.
I've had oral surgery myself. A couple teeth, and later some gum surgery. Your tongue is a very sensitive thing and can feel every minor imperfection in your mouth, and get a couple strings in there and it goes crazy. If you're not in much pain, you're in great shape. After my gum surgery I was nearly delirious with the pain. The guy had put the stitches in too tight. He cut a few out - problem solved.
