Poll question: What wakes you up in the morning?
Inquiring minds want to know.

With me, I'm usually awake well before the time I need to actually get out of bed. Cats start making a fuss when the real deadline nears.

1. The little black cat is a diva
She has the attitude, and unfortunately, the voice. Plus her internal clock runs 20-30 minutes ahead of mine.

So that I have to REALLY want to sleep in to keep hitting snooze.

I do not wake easily.

8. I used that when I was a teenager 30-ish years ago
The alarm sound was so harsh, my body leaned to wake up with a start about one minute before the clock was set to go off.

4. It depends on how deep in sleep I am. Sometimes..
I am harder to get up than the kids are and that is hard to do.

7. Daddy the Cat, making biscuits on me at 4:30.
After that, Toby starts rumbling for his morning treats, and I never quite get back to sleep for that last hour. But it's kinda okay because Daddy LOVES to cuddle with me for that hour. :loveya: kitty love.

10. Usually one of the cats.
Never get an alarm clock with buttons on the top. I might add, if you have a phone by the bed, make sure it doesn't have buttons on the top.
we have a Bose radio CD combo by the bed, cats love to turn it on at 3:30 AM.

12. Divebombing cats at about 5:00 AM
Our two cats climb on top of a 6' armoir in our bedroom, and take turns jumping onto our bed from it. A couple of those, and we're both wide awake-- even on weekends.

Here's the culprits right here:

Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 10:28 AM by TX-RAT
We just brought Otto Man back from his yearly at the vet. He topped out at 21 pounds. He's too fat to jump on the alarm clock, he's more of a I'll lay in the floor and you can go around type cat.

15. My daughter wakes me up.
I used to wake HER up, but I told her this year, you're in fourth grade, you'll set your alarm, turn it on each night, get up in the morning and get yourself ready for school.

So she has been. She gets me up right before we need to go, then I come home and get ready (my work hours start after she's already in school).

17. 50lbs of dawg sleeping on my forehead
she sleep at my feet but when it's wakeup time, she climbs onto my head. when i push her off or shift or whatever, she just gets up and lies down on my forehead again until i wake up.

what wakes HER up is my alarm clock, which is on radio but so quiet you can really only hear the initial click. unless you're a doggie, apparently.

on weekdays i do have a foghorn-like backup alarm clock, though i'm almost always awake to turn it off before it can wake the entire neighborhood.

I have to set multiple clocks friday morning. I get off shift at 11:30 pm and am back on shift at 5:30 am. I have to be dragged kicking and screaming to consciousness after about 4 hours sleep.

29. I always have to pee @ 6am
And when I get up for that, the cat pesters for "breakfast" and the dog has to go out and pee too. By the time I've taken care of myself and those two jokers, I'm wide awake.

I wish I had a more dignified answer but, oh well... :-)

31. don't assume everyone wakes up in the morning
I work nights and usually get up at 5:00 PM. If I am awakened in the morning it's usually by f***ing WEED EATERS and LEAF BLOWERS. I think the lazy ass people who use those things should have to hear them at 02:00 AM to see how they f***ing like it.

35. Damn loud Radio
Followed half an hour later by the alarm-clock on my mobile phone (placed at the other end of the room so that I have to get out of bed totally), then finally come round about 15-20 minutes later and stagger downstairs to make coffee.
