3. Here are a few more
This site has some photos of really great abandoned sites in Europe. The photography is excellent and the site rocks. http://home2.planetinternet.be/henk/

Go to this site http://www.lostamerica.com/links.html and about half way down the page is a section called abandoned places and things with a ton of links to sites that have loads of photographs of abandoned places, like old military bases, mental hospitals and factories

8. I've heard that. Where I live, Middletown, CT there is a huge and very old
insane asylum. There are buildings these people would LOVE to get into.

9. We used to break into very old abandoned farm houses
just to look around.
I used to work in a habilitation center and we used to break into the abandoned buildings all the time there. Now most of them are slated to be torn down. My favorite area was the old chapel, though the morgue was cool too.

17. there is one near Baltimore in Ellicot City
and another in Bowie, nearer to DC. The one in Ellicot City is scary as hell. locals call it Hellhouse. Reputedly very haunted.

I wish i had pics of the old insane asylum near Bowie. very creepy looking, even during the day.

11. Isn't Governor's Island in NYC also abandoned?
Edited on Thu Mar-10-05 08:51 PM by tjdee
I read an article in New York Magazine to that effect...it's the island between Brooklyn and Manhattan...

yes, found it on Google:

13. This is my favourite...I've partially explored it:

It's owned by a non-profit resoration corporation now, so it might be saved, but the foundation has been pretty much destroyed by decades of freezing and thawing floodwaters.
