Here I was flying down to Richmond from CT for an interview with Genworth Financial. I seemed to be the perfect fit for the job in their financial reporting department. Their search had focused only on me for 3 months. My original interview in early Jan was postponed due to the flight down from Hartford being snowed out. Because of it being a busy time at work, I couldn't make it down there until this past Monday.
However, I was very confident going in and I knew that I could "hit the ground running" at this job. My wife was up for relocating, as she does not like the winters of CT as much as me.
The interview seemed to go well, and I was even more confident coming out of the interview than I was going in, and I'm usually very pessimistic about these things. Midlodemocrat had even hooked me up with one of her realtor friends to look at houses... and, I flew down early on Sunday for the express purpose of doing that.
But, I just got the message just now that they want to go in another direction. I should follow up to see what I did wrong, but I'm just a little stunned right now, as I thought the big decision would be whether to relocate... as it seemed like the job was a done deal.
Oh well, maybe next time.
