3. Yowsa!
Many Twins games at the Met (Battey, Killabrew, Rollins, Versailles, Allison, Katt, Mincher , who else?). A fantastic baseball stadium, as a boy I was overwhelmed. Of course Vikings games, a little weird for football, but what fun playing the Rams and the Cowboys on a frozen field in a snow storm (they kind of acted like sissies). Also lovely evenings with the Minnesota Kicks Soccer.

5. Oh, yes, I saw the Kicks there too. I'd forgotten about that.
Strikers played indoors, of course, after we lost the Kicks.

9. The Purple People Eaters
Legendary goal line defense, (Eller, Jim "wrong way" Marshall, and Allan Page our Justice of the State Supreme Court, and I think bigger things later)

But back to baseball, play by play by Halsey Hall, Tribune writing by Dick Cullum. The Yankees of Mantel, Berra , Ford, and Maris came to town, and Roger Maris gave the finger to the polite Minnesota fans. Everyone was freaked out, alot of us are still a little nervous about New York.

11. Yeah, I remember the stir that Maris' finger made here!
That kind of rudeness was unheard of here in Minnesota, at least in those days.

Northstars at the Metropolitan Sports Center (is that what the rink in the background was called?) and Supertramp in the hockey arena as well!
