Cover me, boys, I'm going in...
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 11:54 AM by Redstone
to my accountant's office to do 2004 taxes.

Argh! I wouldn't mind paying the taxes so much, really I wouldn't, if they didn't torture me so much with the paperwork...like I'm REALLY going to write down my mileage EVERY time I drive my car.

6. None of the tax software really works for my kind of business
though actually, the way we do it (keeping records in Filemaker) works pretty well. It's just a lot of stuff.

Upon reflection...I'm not really complaining. Even though we didn't have a great year last year, we're still in business and feeding the family.

I do count myself fortunate to be in the position of having to pay some taxes because I made some money; and I do feel bad for people who don't have to pay taxes because they're unemployed, etc.

Don't want to sound like a whiner.

7. Two margaritas would be better...
then you don't worry as much that you might have put something in the wrong folder.

8. Umm, yes, ma'am, and why do you think you should be able to
deduct your dog's hair cut as an attorney's business expense?

Just do it you darn accountant!!!!

10. Well, because a professional image is important to an attorney;
can't have him walking a shaggy ol' dog around, can we?

See? There's an explanation for everything.

4. Someone ought to come up with a program that ...
...spits out reasonable daily mileage and other tax deductible numbers, after entering a few perameters. It would be for educational purposes only, of course. Wouldn't wanna give the IRS fudged figures.
