'80s VINYL - YOU AIN'T GONNA BELIEVE THIS SHIT!
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 09:20 PM by NightTrain
As some of you know, tomorrow from 1:00-5:00 p.m. EST, I'm filling in on my college radio station's '80s show. As such, I just spent a couple of hours in the basement, digging through my singles and LPs. Check out some of the 45s I turned up. I'd forgotten I even had some of this stuff!

BANANARAMA - Robert DeNiro's Waiting
PAT BENATAR - Shadows of the Night
THE B-52s - Rock Lobster
GARY "U.S." BONDS - This Little Girl
LAURA BRANIGAN - Self-Control
CULTURE CLUB - Miss Me Blind
CHARLIE DANIELS - Still In Saigon
DAVID & DAVID - Welcome to the Boomtown
DR. HOOK - Baby Makes Her Bluejeans Talk
LARRY ELGART - Hooked On Swing
EYE TO EYE - Nice Girls
FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD - Two Tribes
PETER GABRIEL - Shock The Monkey
THE GAP BAND - Early in the Morning
THE J. GEILS BAND - Freeze-Frame
DON HENLEY - All She Wants To Do Is Dance
JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS - Do You Wanna Touch Me
OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN - Xanadu
THE KINKS - Come Dancing
KOOL & THE GANG - Big Fun
LITTLE RIVER BAND - The Night Owls
DELBERT McCLINTON - Giving It Up For Your Love
RONNIE MILSAP - (There's) No Getting Over Me
MISSING PERSONS - Words
THE MOODY BLUES - Gemini Dreams
MOVING PICTURES - What About Me?
JUICE NEWTON - Love's Been A Little Bit Hard On Me
NOEL - Silent Morning
OXO - Whirly Girl
THE ALAN PARONS PROJECT - Don't Answer Me
PINK FLOYD - Not Now John
QUEEN - Body Language
ROCKWELL - Somebody's Watching Me
LINDA RONSTADT - Get Closer
DIANA ROSS - Muscles
THE ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA - Hooked On Classics
SKYY - Call Me
DONNA SUMMER - Cold Love
SURVIVOR - Eye of the Tiger
TEARS FOR FEARS - Sowing the Seeds of Love
TAVARES - A Penny For Your Thoughts
VANGELIS - Chariots of Fire

I may not have time to play all of those tunes, but I'll bet the mere mention of them jogged some dormant memory cells for ya!

If you'd like to catch the Wednesday show, you can do so live on the Web at http://whus.org/listen.htm Or if you're local, just tune your FM dial to 91.7, WHUS!

8. It would've been more fun if the basement weren't so goddamned cold!
And if the dog hadn't kept walking between me and the boxes of vinyl. :eyes:

9. Juice Newton had another song, the name escapes me,
that I used to sing my son to sleep with, when he was an infant. If you could rmemmber the title, I'd be grateful. I remember that it was a love song, ha ha!

12. She actually had a number of hits. Off the top of my head....
Angel of the Morning
Queen of Hearts
The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)
Break It To Me Gently
Heart of the Night

There may be others, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Thanks NightTrain. At six weeks old, my son loved that song, or at least nodded off to it. That song, and the rocker, and he was out like a light in five minutes.

13. TWO TRIBES Rocks, And It's So Timely!
You should certainly work Two Tribes into your set.

I've been working into just about every set I've played since 9/11.
