But the pets are all safe and warm, and I don't have to go anywhere tonight. Thank Christ for that!

1. Agreed, man.
This sucks, especially if you have to be out in it for any length of time. Neato drifting patterns, though!

10. It isn't any better to the south of you guys either...
With the wind chill it feels like 2 in NJ, and I had a night class, that wasn't a fun walk at all!

5. Stay warm NightTrain.
Spring is coming! The Vernal equinox will be here soon!

This is when I'm glad to live in NE GA. It was sunny and windy today and in the 50s. Tonight will be about 25 degrees. Last weekend we had high in the 60s but it was also rainy and damp and cold at night..

6. Thanks! And by the way, CT has a big advantage over N.E. Georgia.
I'm not surrounded by right-wing douche bags! ;)

13. Oh man! Why do ya have to remind me of that?
I've got great weather but asshole politicians. It was just a few years ago that Max & Wyche were my senators, Zell & Roy were governors and the State House & Senate were both Dem. Damn. Just damn. I do have John Barrow as my Rep. in DC. He's a friend of mine. The RW Repubs are out for him now.

7. I have propane firelogs in the fireplace,

an Aladdin lamp full of fuel, most of a bottle of Finlandia, and several new books waiting for me.

Let it snow, let it blow. Let it knock the electricity out. I'm ready.

On edit: It was rude of me to mention this without issuing an invitation. The power goes out, come on over. I'll be up.

12. It's a nice toasty fireplace,
and furthermore, I'm temporarily suspending the "no smoking in the house" rule--the screen porch is full of snow.

15. Toasty warm in here with the woodstove going.
We have oil backup but haven't used it for four years. Wood is so much cheaper.

We've got approx. 10 inches of fresh snow so far and it's supposed to keep going until early afternoon.

... the siding is rattling off the walls here at my hotel!

ahhh... the luxury of a heated space away from the cold and wind. Nice.

17. Oh, cripes - it ain't nothing like a normal winter "blow" in Wisconsin
or Minnesota or Montana, to say nothing of Alaska.

East Coast whiners.
