NEW YORK -- A Long Island, N.Y., man was ticketed in Brooklyn, N.Y., for selling Girl Scout cookies with his 13-year-old daughter.
The man, Hoi Louis, was in Williamsburg delivering the cookies with his daughter over the weekend. The man told the New York Post it was his old neighborhood, before he moved, and he and his daughter have been selling Girl Scout cookies there since his daughter was in first grade.
At 4:50 p.m. Saturday a police captain and a uniformed officer pulled up to their van as they were unloading cookies. Louis told the Post that the Captain from the 94th Precinct ticketed the man for selling cookies without a license.
The NYPD says the man and his daughter were not delivering the cookies, but instead were selling the cookies from a table they had set up on the street.
The child's grandmother, who was in the van, said her granddaughter was frightened by the police and the girl's father was flabbergasted.
