Waitress Flips Car, Lands In Canal, Still Gets To Work On Time
Edited on Tue Mar-08-05 12:57 PM by matcom
*another story about those lazy "feriners" :eyes:

<snip>

WESTON, Fla. -- A Florida waitress could have been excused if she decided to take the day off Monday.

She was driving along Alligator Alley -- the highway connecting Fort Lauderdale and the Gulf coast -- when her car went airborne, clipped another car and splashed down in a canal.

The man whose car she bumped said, "It was like the Dukes of Hazzard."

The woman got her purse because it had her immigration papers. She then climbed out of the sinking car and made it to the far bank of the canal. One witness said he saw two alligators in the water.

Some fisherman got her back to the highway. She was checked out by paramedics and taken home.

Instead of taking the day off, she got a ride to the restaurant where she works -- and she arrived on time.

5. I passed a kidney stone in the emergency room at a hospital
and still was only 1/2 hour late to work.

There are many times (in Cleveland Ohio) where I'm there on a blizzardy day ON TIME, despite coming in from 25 miles out (and dropping off Mrs. ZBD at her work), while people who live 10 minutes away (counting traffic lights) are late . . .

6. Shooooooot
I have quit jobs because it was too cold to go outside. 40 below zero with windchill and 60 mile an hour winds, 2 el trains and 2 busses was where I drew the line. But then again there have been a job or two where I was just too hung over to even think about working ever again and just quit. Seriously.
