Show your desktop! (Picture)
Let's see what kind of 'puter you keep. (Just bored, and looking for personality clues from all you fine folk!)

In reality, I have a folder with about 2,000 desktop graphics. I switch to a new one every couple days. FYI, the program I used to capture my desktop is an ancient version of Lview Pro released when Win95 was current. Sometimes older is better!

32. Hey, Nomad!
What shell are you using? Have you tried 3DNA? It is incredible...has different "worlds" you can launch your programs from - all in 3D. Need a really good graphics card and lots of memory. Here's a couple of screenshots from their site:

Edited on Sun Oct-12-03 05:21 PM by Drifter
The first is that I'm too lazy to look into a file hosting site.
The secound is that I have a picture of my 3 beautiful daughters as my background (I think you understand). Close your eyes and imagine 3 beautiful blonde hair girls ages 14, 9 today, and 4.

Ok stop imagining you pervert (just kidding)

Cheers
Drifter

18. Looks like mine
I used to have a great shot of galaxies taken by Hubble, but recently I've been remote-accessing my PC, and it takes forever to transfer the wallpaper, so I got rid of it.

I might have to try some other wallpaper sometime.

21. I'm kind of "over" the picture thing...
at least for awhile. No picture, no screensaver. I guess after having a computer with a "cutesy" picture for so long I am into the minimalist look - NOW, if only my house could take it upon itself to follow suit :)

I still have a ton of programs I haven't even installed from the last time I formatted - office, photoshop, antivirus, etc - I guess when I need them I'll install them. (yes, I know antivirus would probably qualify as a "need" for most people - :))

I have a dual monitor set-up so I cropped most of #2 off to keep the pictire from being too wide here. I make my own desktop
images in 3d programs or from my own photos and usually change it every few weeks.

It can be addictive when you start messing around with it. I also use Bryce and a couple others I mess around with too, wish I could afford Maya.

39. I have Bryce 5
and I've looked at Maya, but I prefer 3DS Max. Guess it's just because I started using it first, and got used to it. It had its beginnings in the same company that created Autocad, and I've used that a lot for landscape design. I've also looked at Lightwave, but it's a bit difficult for me.

Would definitely like to learn more about them. Especially how to do photorealistic human forms. Saw a book at the store a few weeks ago that had some amazing examples and tutorials in it but it was 50 bucks so it's still in the store and not my bookcase.
