Today in history.
60 years ago, the Rhine River bridge was captured intact by Allied troops in Remagen, Germany.
The first Rhine river bridge captured intact.

Hitler had the entire squad of engineers who botched the demolition job shot.

Here's to the guys who fought against fascism then, from us who battle it today. :toast:

I was a toddler, so I have no recollection of these events. Your post puts an interesting perspective on world events, doesn't it? Amen to your toast!
