Six years ago today on March 7 1999, the great Stanley Kubrick died...
A truly sad day in my life and for anyone else who loves the movies; no more Kubrick and no more Kubrick movies...now just the same juvenile sub-moronic playing-on-ten-screens multiplex shit...

Oh Stanley, why did you leave us so soon?

2. It's a shame his legacy was left with "Eyes Wide Shut"
I swear I'd rather watch "Gigli" or "Glitter" than sit through "Eyes Wide Shut" again.

However he was a legend and I love "Dr. STrangelove", "Full Metal Jacket", "Clockwork Orange" or any of his other earlier works

5. I like Eyes Wide Shut
There's a lot of subtlety and nuance to it.

The color schemes used throughout are brilliant as is the typically excellent Kubrickian cinematography.

It is a *tad* slow, but nowhere near the pace of Barry Lyndon.

3. Great director
especially "Dr. Strangelove" and "Paths to Glory", it is a shame his last film wasn't up to his usual standards.

6. "Barry Lyndon" - - The first Kubrick film I ever saw.
I was about 15 and realized that there was more to movies than just cops and robbers.

He did have a tendency to make LONG films, however.

He is missed.

8. I guess I didn't GET his work
"Eyes Wide Shut" was just boring, but "Full Metal Jacket" was okay. I guess he's just not my kind of filmaker.
