That's so cool, BTW. Obviously MO'D had a better sense of humor than Eitzel does....I have a bootleg of theirs from 1991 where he breaks down crying in the middle of "Western Sky." I get the sense that MO'D would have directed such feelings outward.

I saw Eitzel do a free show on a beautiful summer day in Central Park in 98....it was just him and Vudi on pedal steel. Very odd surroundings to be in while hearing such brually emotional music. My brother (who is not a deeply musical person) despised it and was laughing at Eitzel's persona the whole time, and the happy families all around us seemed, uh....put out.

In any case, I want "Why Won't You Stay?" played at my funeral.

First with Mike Patton though. (Thankfully they had kicked Courtney Love out of the band several years earlier.)

Their 2nd and 3rd Patton albums (Angel Dust; King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime) were both pretty good with Angel Dust being VERY good. It also appears to be the playbook for both Korn and Limp Biskit.

But I don't hold a grudge against it for that.

But I'm not even sure that it's Nirvana's "best" disk. I could build a strong argument for "In Utero" being a stronger album. In terms of influence, though, "Nevermind" was a blockbuster like no other.

If I'm voting for "best" 90's album, I'm going with Alice in Chain's "Dirt", or the Gathering's "Mandylion". Maybe I'll even go alt-country with ya and choose Lyle Lovett's "Step Inside This House", or better yet, Patty Griffin's excellent "Living With Ghosts". Yeah, that's it. Patty gets my nod.

Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Tom Petty all put out their best albums since the 70's.

My choice has to be Jeff Buckley's Grace. It's the only album I own where I'd never get tired of any of the tracks. Honestly, every song on the album is excellent, some of them sublime. Grace, Eternal Life, Last Goodbye, Lover You Should Have Come Over, Lilac Wine and Halelujah, all songs I would include in my top 50 all time singles list.
