Anyone like the "Munsters" ?
My buddy brought over the DVD tonight, it was interesting to see they actualy made a pilot for TV that never aired. Ever notice that in each episode someone always runs away.

2. The original was in color but they stopped it apparently things were not
working out. They redid it with a couple of different cast members.

4. I like the series and the actors.
"Grandpa" Al Lewis still has a radio program on WBAI at 12 noon on Saturdays in NYC. He's recovering from serious surgery but should be back on the air soon (on his birthday per his wife and son). He's 90-something now and still very much outspoken on prison and drug reform.

Fred Gwynne was a skilled artist who started out on Madison Avenue but morphed into the theatre. His drawings are hanging in the hallways of the Tuxedo Club's court tennis building. He and Grandpa were tight during the series, before (they both were in "Car 54, Where Are You?") and after the series.

Butch Patrick has a very touching website dedicated to Fred Gwynne. One can imagine what an extraordinary man he was when you read the words. (Note: turn up the sound when you click it on. "Ave Maria" gently plays in the background.)

11. She wasn't in the original pilot......
they had a younger version kinda Morticia Adams looking her name was Phebe and a different Eddie. It was in color too, unlike the series. they made 38 episodes.

I will turn on the TV with the sound down and watch the Munsters. Too bad the show is in black and white.

9. I loved the Munsters when I was a kid
I was totally into the whole Universal monster mythos at the time and had all the Aurora models so the Munsters seemed just about perfect to me.
