1. I kind of like the Reznor/David Bowie duet.
From Bowie's "Outside" tour, it was.

2. Johnny took that song to a new level, but I know plenty that disagree
and prefer it by Reznor.

7. Both versions have their strengths
But Johnny actually experienced a lot more of that hurt in his own life. It's as if he turned the song into his own elegy, a threnody for one's own self, the way Trent Reznor never could despite his own angst.

9. not me..i saw cash in 1962
and all these years later...i cried when i first saw the video of hurt.you cannot appreciate his singing of this song untill ya have some miles on your soul. trent has written one of the finest songs in many years and it took johnny to really make it come to life.

3. OTHER!
I like an entirely different song called Hurt. New Order's 'Hurt' is awesome.

5. Cash made that his own,
just like virtually every song he covered.

And that video...

6. Reznor's was great...
Edited on Mon Mar-07-05 12:57 AM by Kire
...but even he would be offended if you said his was better than Cash's version.

Edit: Nice thought, but I don't think Weird Al is going to touch that.

8. The best version of ANY NiN song is one done by someone else.
But Cash is always king, anyway.
