What bothers you most about other drivers' dangerous habits.
One of them for me is when I am on the expressway and a driver in the next lane who wants to move over into the lane I am in doesn't bother to actually turn and LOOK that there may be another car there. I stopped counting how many near-crashes I have almost had. A few times I was forced on to the shoulder to avoid the vehicle in the next lane moving over into my lane.

I am also seeing a lot more cases of drivers going through red lights. When the light has gone yellow and you're several hundred feet back, these bozos speed up and intend to "make" that light. Before they get to the intersection, the light has turned red and of course they are going so fast they couldn't stop anyway.

26. I was hoping the NY law would come to my state. I never ever
talk on the phone when I drive. I will pull over somewhere if I have to make a call. Dialing and all that other crap, you can't drive as well if you're looking down at the phone and punching numbers in. I am sorry to hear the cops aren't enforcing it or the people get off the phones when the cops are around.

Seem to be passing, but pull up next to me on the highway (me in the right lane, they in the left) and rather than passing me, the sons of bitches slow down so they stay right next to me for miles and miles?

Do they think I need company?

13. Yellow ribbon magnet toting road ragers....
Someone started a post about this a while ago, and I went for a small road trip (80 miles) on friday. I had a total of three people cut me off (pulling out and passing) well above the speed limit and they ALL had those warning magnets. Never took notice before reading the thread.

17. You reminded me of how I recognized idiots after 9/11
It happened so much I came up with a formula. I automatically give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they have an IQ of at least 100.

If you had a flag (whether it was an actual flag, a sticker or picture cutout) I automatically subtracted 10 points from your IQ. If there were two, you lost 20 IQ points. You get the idea.

Other point deductions are made for:
any Republican bumpersticker
a bumpersticker promoting a product/store (extra points if it is a bait shop)
any bumpersticker containing/talking about the car occupant & rapture or abortion being bad

Since we attacked Iraq I've had to factor in the ribbons in my equation. Anyway you look at it these people are clueless sheep.

28. I agree
It was scary. Overnight lots of people had flags flying from their cars. There were a few "super patriots" on my block. What pissed me off is that these people didn't even have the decency to vote. I know, I do canvessing & phone calling. They don't show up as registered to any party.

15. Cars following too closely.
That's probably the one thing that *REALLY* annoys me. I'll be going well over the speed limit and STILL they'll come up right at your bumper. Most cases, I'll let them pass, all the while staring and gritting my teeth -- other times, I won't make a move and force them to go around.

That, tailgating, and failure to respect the rights of pedestrians.

Most bad driving comes from an "it's all about me, fuck everyone else" mentality.

22. Yes on the turn signal.
It's there for a reason, use it. Better yet, use it properly. You know before you begin the turn! (I'm not Miss Cleo over here.)

And, I know I am going to sound age-ist but, if you can't see over the steering wheel don't drive. Peeking through the opening between the top of the wheel and the dashboard doesn't count. If you are old and small please get a small car that allows you took out the windows or raise the seat in the one you've got! I almost got tagged by a little old lady in a huge fucking luxury car because she could barely see the road through the opening in the steering wheel. Okay, there was that pesky stop sign she didn't obey either but it scared the shit out of me when she was barreling past it into my lane. She got mad at me too because I slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting her (I had the right of way). I wasn't sure if she was mad because the noise hurt her ears or because I seemed to have awakened her out of her fantasy world.

23. Not cleaning the snow off
the roof of the car. Then all of a sudden at 65mph it lets loose, right onto your windshield. Some people don't even bother to clean off the rear window. And then there are the drivers who must get in front of you and then slow down and not even do the speed limit.

27. yes, I run into a lot of the people who must be in front and then slow do
I also had a person today go over the lane line when we were under a viaduct. Most people seem to go over the lane line as they are afraid of hitting the wall not realizing they are forcing the person next to them into oncoming traffic. When going under viaducts I almost put my hand on the horn as I can predict most people will "push" me into oncoming

the lack of any consideration for any and all other drivers on the road.

That in sum, is the reason for all of the dangerous habits so far expressed on this thread.

38. People going too slow
In some situations a very slow driver can be more dangerous than someone speeding. If you're going 45mph on the interstate, then you are a traffic hazard. Especially slow people who pull out in front of cars that are obviously going much faster.
If you are incapable of going over 25mph on any city street then you should get off the road.

40. People who go straight from the right turn lane.
There's a five lane intersection in my neighborhood. The left lane is for turning left, the middle is for going straight and the right is for turning right, god damn it. And without fail there is always some moron in the right turn lane blocking 5-10 cars behind him so they have to sit through the entire red light. And for no reason whatsoever except he can cut in front of a few cars in the middle lane.

:Grrr:
