I stole a piece of summer. It was BLISS. Let me share...

On a whim, I went straight rather than turn left to go home. The beach was my new destination.

I parked along tony Pt. Grey Rd. and walked past the hollowed portals of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Jericho Tennis Club and Brock House. As I went I drank in the aroma of the cherry blossoms, which were in full bloom. To the beach, and then down to the shore.

I needed more. Out to the furthest spit of sand - and then off came the shoes and the socks. Toes meet sand. I even braved the water...well up to my ankles anyway. I found four perfect shells. One for each month until summer is truly here.

Up the beach I went, and sat on a log to observe twilight give way to night. I watched the lights of he North Shore dance in the darkening sky. The chatter of unseen birds, the water grazing the shore and the indecipherable murmur of my fellow sojourners was all I heard.

As night finally made her entrance, I slipped away. I still have sand between my toes.

I was working for most of the day and into the night. Ah, the lives we live.

On an odd note, yvr girl, I logged onto DU for the second time today, and the top post on the latest as you enter, was a lounge post from ya that I felt the need to respond to. Earlier in the day it was the alarm clock bit. I enjoy life's coincidences, unless it's getting hit by a bus twice in the same day, that's no fun.
