Poll question: What is your favorite Hershey's Miniatures? My fate hinges on your answer.
I have had a bowl of Hershey's Miniatures next to my monitor for a week or two, now. I bought three bags. And I found myself wondering why am I eating so many of the Milk Chocolate kind, and so few of my favorite kinds.

For the record, I have ranked my personal favorites in order below:

  1. Special Dark
  2. Krackel
  3. Mr. Goodbar
  4. Milk Chocolate

So, now considering that I find myself eating more of my least favorite candy when I put a bag in a bowl, I decided to count the contents of the last remaining bag just a few minute ago. Here are my findings:

  • Special Dark - 8
  • Krackel - 9
  • Mr. Goodbar - 9
  • Milk Chocolate - 18

So I ask: Why, Lord, why? Why must I live in this world of corporate , market tested, consumer driven world where I can't even get a fair serving of my favorite kind of Hershey's Miniature's chocolate candy? Why must I pay for a whole bag of 44 candies, if all I really want is the eight of the Special Dark variety

I am considering a lawsuit.

I know this isn't scientific at all, but I would like to know, what is your favorite Hershey's Miniature? I don't want to bias this poll (is that possible if it's not scientific?), but I think I am going to sell my soul to Mephistopheles if Special Dark is not the clear winner. Let the Crusade begin. The milk-less chocolate is the life.

3. Same here...
Mr Goodbar and Krackle get my vote! (Well, Mr Goodbar did, since I like those slightly better, but it's a really close race)

13. I voted for Krackle because I didn't notice Mr. Goodbar.
Mr. Goodbar is actually my favorite.

7. Loving the Special Dark.
I like the intensely chocolately goodness. And so apparently, do my co-workers. Whenever a bag of Miniatures goes into the community candy dish, those get picked out first. Luckily, Mr. Goodbars seem to get left behind, and I have them as my second fave--I know, like the opposite of Special Dark. I don't care. THey are my second fave because *they are there*.

8. If I'm gonna eat dark chocolate, it sure as hell won't be Hershey's
And if I'm gonna eat milk chocolate, it won't be the regular Hershey's either. For milk chocolate I like Cadbury or Symphony (which Hershey's makes). For dark chocolate, I get whatever brand of 70 % cacao solids chocolate I can find at Trader Joe's.

10. Why is the dark chocolate "special"?
Seems pretty mundane compared to other dark chocolate, or are they just comparing to the light chocolate and it's a marketing scam?

And, coffee is the essence of life.

12. Dark doesn't bother my cavities.
I don't know why that is, but when I eat Milk chocolate in any variety my teeth feel on fire.

24. They do it that way on purpose
to make you buy more bags.

My grocery carries large bars of Special Dark and Ghiardelli Dark Chocolate scored into miniatures-sized pieces. That's what I buy. If you prefer tidy, individually-wrapped bites, consider looking for Hershey's Kisses in dark chocolate. My store carries those too. Mmmm.
