It's a very feminine, wholly non-threatening Jesus. It emphasizes his loving nature. I like it a lot.

The Dark Ages fresco in the OP was more typical in early Christianity. Westerners have turned him into White Jesus, but it's doubtful that anybody imagined him that way back in the old days.

I figure since Jesus was a Semite, he had to have looked more like a modern Palestinian than a European. I know that sets some people's heads spinning, yet I believe depicting him as only European denies his human identity as the heir of David.

I like the African Jesus depiction, too. Jesus identified with the wretched and the suffering. In my heart, I think he would approve of it.
