Finally saw the latest Terminator flick, and I LOVED it.
Love Arnie or hate him, you have to admit it's the perfect role for him-- he doesn't have to act at all! And I absolutely loved the car chase scene!

I don't care if there was plot or lack thereof, who the actors/actresses were, what the state of the dialogue was, how logical it all was, etc. None of that matters (much as I don't give a flying f**k about how well Enterprise fits into the Trek universe, and so on). Just gimme plenty of blood, guts, car wrecks, explosions, bullets, missiles, bent broken ruptured bodies flying across the big screen with planty of NOISE NOISE NOISE in the background (full THX stereo, of course!), and I'll gladly fork over the bucks to see it three or four times.

Gimme movie, dammit! (I also saw the second Tomb Raider today-- it was also an enjoyable two hour escape from reality. That's al that counts! Plus the fact that Angelina Jolie is so frickin' easy to look at...)

1. I liked the ending (spoiler?)
It wasn't a typical Hollywood and-they-all-lived-happily-ever-after ending.

7. Wrong.
Its made over 400 million worldwide. Its in the top 50 of all time. Todays movie market is international.

And all that is before rentals and DVD sales.

By all standards, T3 is a blockbuster hit.

12. Where'd you get those numbers?
Edited on Sun Oct-12-03 04:35 PM by delhurgo
They must be from weeks, or months ago. Three sources: BoxOfficeMojo, BoxOfficeGuru, and IMDB all have it over 400 million. Mojo is the most recent, and it has T3 at 423.9 million as of 10/5.

I'd suggest you change your source for B.O. grosses; its numbers are way out of date.

(Edit: I just thought of something: Make sure you're looking at 'International'. 'Worldwide' is just foreign markets and doesn't include U.S. grosses. So it may not be your source; you may have just looked at the wrong number.)

4. i hated it and im a huge terminator fan (big review
Edited on Sun Oct-12-03 04:15 AM by Kamika
this is my imdb review.

**spoilers**

Ok. I am a HUGE sci fi fan and I love Terminator and T2. I had huge hopes for T3 but it just left me feeling REALLY REALLY EMTY.

1st. The movie felt like it was cut. It felt like it was heavily cut. The movie runs for about 104 mins.. T2 ran for well over 2 hours atleast.

The dialogue was at zero. And I suspect alot of plot never really got explored, like when T-X is sent to kill Connors officers.. She kills 2. And thats that.

Furthermore there is no suspense no nothing like that. Remember T2? We didnt even know who was the good / Bad Terminator until Well 25-30 mins into the movie. Here The Biggest scene in the whole movie with the crane chase is well underway after 25-30 mins. It just feels like they rushed everything. Do the movie companies really give us so little credit nowadays so they think we wont sit thru a film unless it has action ALWAYS??

Now to my biggest concern which ties to the cutting.

The movie is basicly just ACTION non stop ACTION. I know you will say ok well its a good action movie. Yes i agree But this is terminator.. they had 12!! years to come up with a INCREDIBLE script. What we get is a script that is nonstop action no dialogue no plot no nothing except mindnumbing action.

I mean first its the fight at the veterinarian, then they drive for what? 5 mins then they fight at the cemetary, then they fight at the military complex then they go to the fallout shelter and the movie is basicly Done.

There is so minimal dialogue (ok i know im repeating myself) that I could puke. This is a Terminator movie not a action movie they should have done more.

And now to the minor stuff.

Whats the deal with all these stuff that makes no sense. Like when he puts on these silly glasses the male stripper had then he takes them off and crushes them. Ok hes a ROBOT, does he have some coolness program he must obey? If he has a directive to wear glasses he should have worn these it would have made complete sense.

Then whats the deal with counting how many cops hes killed?? I hate how
movies these days have abo****ely no balls. Like when Spielberg replaced
the rifles in E.T with walkie talkies.. This terminator was Sent from the
future he had NO directive not to kill cops he repeats his directives More
then once i think and its solely to ensure that connor and his wife lives.

This movie was made for the fast buck and it ****s because they destroyed
possibly the greatest line of movies ever

Thanks for the rant

Sue

---

ok that was my review since then ive found two HUGE goofs

1st one is when the T-X is oing to kill the hispanic guy if you look at the tv when she sees his id tag his name in HER point of view isnt spelled the same way as the one on his name tag.

and second which shows how they cut the movie into a joke, when arnold almost kills john at the airplane john screams "You cant kill a HUman being you said so yourself!!"

Well guess what he NEVER said so. he did say it in the book and i suspect its another one that Mostov felt he could just cut

10. Yeah
It did kinda feel that way, if thats the case they should be ashamed of themselves.

And just what would terminator 4 be about? only future war? they have franchised terminator into something different then it was.

15. I loved T3
But I hated Pirates of the Carribean, which I thought was as empty and soulless as a movie could get. No good action, absolutely no romance, a witless hero, dorky villians... *Yawn* What's ironic is that I loved Arnie's movie and I detested Johnny Depp's (the faux-European wannabe) flick. I did enjoy Gilbert Grape a lot though.

T3 exceeded my moderate expectations greatly. I loved the ending as well, and the message it brought: You can't do nothing to change the the fact that humans will almost destroy themselves!
