If you were granted the power to travel back in time
to observe a single event, great or small, what event would you choose, and why?

3. NYC. July, 1969...Stonewall.
I would have loved to have been there...to watch the beginning of the gay and lesbian civil rights movement. It was history in the making.

13. Same here. Now, if we could change/interfere w/ events I might have
a different answer. Offing a young Adolph, springs to the top of the list.

6. One of three choices:
A typical day in the marshalling yards for the Texas and Pacific Railroad Yards in
Marshall Texas in 1945

or

a typical day on the levee/ waterfront in New Orleans in the fall of 1915 say at the Tolouse street pier.

or
hanging out in Galveston where the red snapper fleet of schooners tied up in 1925.

Either way, I would be taking lots of photos.

14. EASY! JUNE 4TH 1968 Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles
I would have stepped in front of Bobby Kennedy and taken the bullet myself. I would then be known decades later as "The Man who saved the world".

20. I agree with you so...
In saving one life, you might be saving thousands more. Imagine a country without Watergate, possibly without the invasion of Cambodia, possibly without having backed the coup in Chile.

It just destroys me to watch (and hear) the film record of that horrible, horrible day. The man saying, with a sob, "Oh, no, Oh, no."

17. The Final Countdown
Isn't that the name of the movie where the aircraft carrier went through a time warp and ended up at Pearl Harbor 12-7-41?

I'd go back and tackle that guy who interfered with the foul ball that cost the Cubs the NLCS.

21. Good Friday...
Despite the fact the pugs tell us that we are pagans, I am a Democrat and a Christian and I would want to witness this event (and not the one directed and produced by Mel Gibson). Why? Because this is probably the single most important part of my life and given the opportunity, I would want to be there.

28. Several possibilities
The Boston Tea Party

The signing of the Declaration of Independence (though technically the signing happened over several months)

The day the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution OR the day the measures were discussed at their greatest length to understand far more their reasons for each one

April 18, 1775

The Boston Massacre

(I think a general pattern is emerging here)
