George Will is advocating PBS's demise
I am sure this is a symptom of a larger problem but for some reason this story in particular has affected me this morning. My first 9 years were spent in a somewhat remote area of Oklahoma, outside of Sapulpa which is near Tulsa, and while our local public school provided a basic education it was our OETA PBS station that filled in the gaps and extended our knowledge of what lay beyond hicksville USA. Especially in this age of 'Reality TV' and 'Sensational TV' where does true cultural programming have a chance to air if not on a PBS channel?

I am leaving for a class but wished to post this before I left so please forgive this first draft :)
