Funny story: I had this HUGE crush on this guy in HS. He broke my heart. I had even gotten him a necklace for his birthday. He told me his mom was making him return it. I was crushed.

We got in touch right before my 20 year HS reunion last summer, and he came out! We're best buddies now. I prefer it this way. He even admitted he gave it back because it was a necklace, but he would have kept it if it had been a bracelet.

much, but I have an explanation, though I'm not sure anyone will like it.

Actors are big on ego. Let's face it--you would have to have a big ego if you got into acting at any level of the game. The "Hollywood" marriages that work out usually involved the actor marrying a person who is NOT a fellow actor, or one whose ego isn't that "big." For two people who are constantly in the spotlight to be married still requires one of the two people to keep their own ego in check and expound on the ego of their significant other.

That's why big-name twosomes don't--and can't--last. in such pairings, the two of them let their conceit get in the way of compromise, and are too big-headed to admit that they aren't always right. There are a few exceptions, I know, but of the marriages I've seen in the Entertainment industry, one spouse has to maintain a lower profile than the other in order for that marriage to be a long one.

If the relenting spouse IS famous, it's usually in another field of endeavor. Many marriages work when the wife is the star, and the husband is a producer, director or writer. Those marriages with the spouse outside the Industry completely will usually work, if the non-star spouse allows their partner to keep a high profile, and keep themselves out of the spotlight.

This goes for ALL couples in the entertainment industry, regardless of whether they're in television, stage or film. Because a household is never really big enough to contain two heightened egos.

been married. What the heck fun is THAT for one of the most prolific playboys in hollywood? Who wants to be stuck with a preggers wife for 3 years, when he actually married a major hottie?

Thing is, she probably got preggers with #2 to 'keep' him around, so to speak, or in hopes of making the marriage better.

Also keep in mind, that often people get married without bothering to get to know each other. When all you have in common is dirty diapers and nannies paychecks and breast feeding, there isn't a lot to look forward to that's enjoyable, in the comparative life he'd once lead. The parties are gone, the hot chick on the arm is gone, no more drinking, late dinners, etc. That can get pretty boring when life has been a rock n roll roller coaster.
