Law and Order has become laughable
Don't get me wrong, I liked the show at one time, but watching this now it has really gone down. It is now an hour of bad one liners and two rude cops who are portrayed as asshole superheroes
You think?

1. Yep. Give me SVU anytime. It's 10X better than L&O.
The new assistant DA on L&O gets on my nerves. She has a monotone voice and she's a bad actor. They booted her off of As the World Turns, so I guess she took the step down to L&O. Also, the guy that is playing the cokehead husband tonight is also an As the World Turns reject.

What's that say for the show. It does really suck, compared to five years ago.

2. I have to remind myself it's fiction.

As the parent of a recently hired ADA in NYC, I have to remind myself that most prosecutors don't receive death threats. Creeps me out.

8. Maybe I should be worried
He wants to proscecute corporate criminals. They won't be handing him that stuff right out of the gate so maybe I can relax for a bit.

5. Jerry made this show
It looks like he bowed out just in time. I just wish he wouldn't have bowed out all together :(

9. It is getting worse.
Years ago it was about troubling moral issues where you would ask yourself if what they prosecution was doing was right, or if the jury convicted for the wrong reasons. Now every damn episode is "ripped from the headlines" and is very cut and dry.

10. a very tired show

They're clearly having trouble finding story lines that have anything 'larger' to tell us. So it's gimmicks and old wine in new bottles.

The point of that whole slew of cop/hospital/law shows is to tell us that these institutions are being renewed with dutiful, smart, fair, young people who aren't going to become corrupt Good Old Boys. The point is now accepted and believed. The renewal demonstration game has moved on- up the social ladder to 'The West Wing' and down it to 'Desperate Housewives'.

11. I heard that Chris Noth was going to rejoin the show
I've never watched it, but I would if Big was going to be on.
