3. Not a lot of thriving bats in that lineup.

Beltran's about it.

Floyd and Piazza may have a little left in the tank, but that's if they don't get injured... again.

Good defensive team, POSSIBLY a good pitching staff, IF Pedro stays healthy, IF Benson and Zambrano pan out, IF Glavine has enough left in the tank. What about the bullpen? I could be wrong, I don't recall it being very good.

Probably a third or fourth place (could flip-flop with Philly) finish in that division.

4. the division is shite (aside from the A-Braves)
hopefully the introduction of a new team in the division will even things out, as they tend to beat each other up

15. Padres will win the 2005 World Series.
And they'll do it with pitching.
Jake Peavey led the majors in ERA with .227
Brian Lawrence and Adam Eaton are coming to age and Woody Williams is back to form a strong rotation.
Petco park will noy yeild many homers so the Pads will win by playing "small ball".
Lineup:
Mark Loretta - 2B
Khalil Greene - SS
Phil Nevin - 1B
Brian Giles - RF
Sean Burroughs - 3B
Ryan Klesko - LF
Dave Roberts - CF
Ramon Hernandez - C

Starters:
Jake Peavy
Brian Lawrence
Woody Williams
Adam Eaton
RP:
Justin Germano
Akinori Otsuka
Closer:
Trevor Hoffman

I'm kidding -- I've always liked the Mets. When it comes to baseball, my motto is "anybody but the Yankees"!!

I hate the friggin' Yankees.

21. Now if they can just play baseball!
It doesn't matter if you have the most talented individual players in the world out there. If they can't play as a team they'll be struggling to secure a spot as a wildcard team.

NL all stars, AL all stars, and Japanese all stars...sadly, the Mets might finish 4th in that league.

26. tisk tisk Will...
no need for sour grapes now that we have Pedro! You actually think the Phillies will finish ahead of us??? I don't know if the Mets can take the Braves (depending on Smoltz's arm) but they will be in a dogfight with the Marlins for sure.
