"Rockers" on American Idol
My wife was watching American Idol tonight and noticed that there were a couple of "Rockers" on it this time around (or guys that dressed the part anyway).

As a Rock n Roll fan, I was, well, somewhat taken aback.

I think any alleged Rocker who enters a karaoke, pop singer competition should have their Rock n Roll credentials permanently revoked.

5. Well, based on what I saw
I predict a lucrative career for Bo, making inoffensive, radio-friendly "rock."

7. Yeah, Bo was the best tonight
That said, I don't want to see him win. To be an American Idol would turn any rocker into a joke. He'll probably already get a record deal out of this, so he needs to get off the show while he's still got some credibility.

3. Personally, I think the inclusion of "rockers" is...
a somewhat cynical ploy on Simon's (the exec producer) part to tap into an audience that is otherwise uninterested in AI and the "music" it produces.

4. Bo doin "Whippin Post" was a bright point of the night
I'd much rather watch that than boyband boys with no band.

8. He did an *Allman Brothers* song. That era is so cliche now that...
...there was no loss of anyone's 'credentials'. If this was 20 or 30 years ago, or if he did a Marilyn Manson song, you might have an argument, but now we're talking about something that's as innocuous as a Hallmark greeting.

Besides, he did a good job.
