Hope you have done (or will do) something memorable to mark the occaision. My theory on birthdays (even though I can't act on it all years) is that birthdays are the one day a year that we remember (or we remember about our friends when it is their birthday) to acknowledge... I am glad that (I/you) are here - and that this day marks that coming of being.

Notice how I am not mentioning the answer to the question per age... that is another story. (Actually, given that I rather enjoy the space that I am in at this point in life, I can't really complain on that front. But the number feels surreal.)
