Edited on Mon Feb-28-05 05:23 PM by 4_Legs_Good
I gotta go to lunch so I can listen to the album for real. Just started yesterday and I can't get it out of my head. I *LOVE* finding new music I like (well, relatively new).

19. Nothing beats a snowy day, a good book, and a cat in the lap
purring or not. Plus, after 3-4 years, she's finally figured out that she doesn't want to go outside when things look white, so it's one time she'll relax and not try to convince us to let her out.

I went cat-less for 40 years, then a friend foisted one off on me. Still weighing the pluses and minuses, although pluses are winning...

32. "The Bends"- Radiohead
;)

where do we go from here
the words are comming out all weird
where are you now when i need you
alone on an airplane
falling asleep beside my window pain
my blood will thicken

i need to wash myself again
to hide all the dirt and pain
cause i'd be scared that there's nothing underneath
and who are my real friends
have they all got the bends
am i really sinking, this slow

my baby's got the bends, oh no
we don't have any real friends, no no no

i'm just lying in a bar with my drip feed on talking to my girlfriend
wating for something to happen
and i wish it was the 60s, i wish i could be happy, i wish, i wish, i wish
that something would happen

where do we go from here
the planet is all gummed up in a sea of fear
and where are you

they broaden the CIA
the tanks and the whole marines to blow me away
to blow me away
to blow me sky high

my baby's got the bends
we don't have any real friends

i'm just lying in a bar with my drip feed on talking to my girlfriend
wating for something to happen
and i wish it was the 60s, i wish i could be happy, i wish, i wish, i wish
that something would

i want to live and breathe
i want to be part of the human race
i want to live and breathe
i want to be part of the human race
where do we go from here
the words are coming out all weird
where are you now, when i need you

43. Edgard Varese
He was a severely modernist composer, big inspiration for Frank Zappa. Among other things, he wrote the first orchestral piece that consists only of percussion (including piano, which is a percussion instrument after all, and siren, which is considered percussion because there aren't any better categories for it).

But it's almost bedtime, so I'm going to have to take the Varese off and put on something soothing, like Can :hi:

I absolutley love that album. I love Behind Blue Eyes and My Wife. In college, I had a cassette with Who's Next on one side and UFO Lights Out on the other. I think I wore it out, and the speakers in my old Firebird too! I wish I was listening to something other than my nagging my 6th grader to finish his book report that is due tomorrow so I can go to bed.
