The dispute began when Laci Peterson's mother, Sharon Rocha, went to the house on Covena Avenue and confronted members of Scott Peterson's family, including his mother, Jackie, as they took items from the home Saturday, said police Officer Rick Applegate, a department spokesman.
The argument about 10 a.m. Saturday involved an agreement -- or disagreement -- between the families on when to remove property from the home, which reportedly is to be offered for sale. Applegate said police officers, who commonly respond to such "civil standby" situations, videotaped items that were removed.
