A toast to Morgan Freeman and Kate Blanchett!
It's about time they got the recognition they've deserved for years. Now keeping my fingers crossed for Martin Scorcese. :toast:

2. He was robbed for "Raging Bull"
The movie won for best movie, but he didn't get best director. One of the few times it's happened that way. Rock on Martin!

What you might of been thinking of.. I think Ebert (Someone correct me if I am wrong) Declared it the best movie for the decade of the 1980's

9. I remember there was a year when the best movie won
without the best director winning. Maybe Saving Private Ryan, Spielberg?

12. Possibly, but I'm rooting for Scorcese.
Eastwood has two already, not that it should make a difference. But Scorcese is WAY overdue.

Unfortunately, as much as I loved her doing Kate, this was not her best performance. But I drink to her very existance. Thank you Cate for enriching our lives.

15. I just can't. I wanted Alan to win. I know that Morgan has been passed
over when he deserved it, but I really think Alda deserved it more. :(

16. Haven't seen M$B yet, but I agree about Alda
Great performance. He and Cate were the only two good things about that movie.
