A Brit word we should adopt: having a whinge
whinge: to complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner

Actually it sounds like a combination of whining and binging which is a good thing to do to make yourself feel better!

Have a whinge here!

3. "Knock you up"
A phrase I learned recently. If someone is coming to your house, they say something like, "What time should I knock you up?" which I can't help but laugh because of the American version of knocking someone up. To Brits it mostly means knocking on your door.

5. I've been whingeing for years, thanks.
mostly about people who don't understand what 'whinge' is...and while I at it-not the retention of the 'e' in the subject line. That's how I see it spelled in the big British papers.

6. How is that pronounced?
That's one of those words that I've seen written, but don't recall that I've ever heard it spoken.
