O.K. .... Ma'at is back from taking the California Bar Exam ...
what the Heck happened while I was gone.

The hotel had internet access, but it didn't work in my room.

My hubby and kid visited me.

I know that I did much better than last time, which is good news, since I came close last time. At least I was able to write much more, and it felt solid. I won't know the results for three months.

My hubby didn't want my computer "connecting" with a strange modem anyway, since I needed it to be in top form for the Bar Exam (I was a Laptopper).

Speaking of "connecting," it seems that the Gannongate story has kind of exploded.

3. Yep, it's suburban Heaven, as you well know.
I think it went well. But you never know. It is now with the Grading Gods.

Take care!

4. You guessed it!
And that's exactly how it is going to go.

It went well. I felt solid.

Now, it is in the hands of the Grading Gods.

I'm going to take a bit of time off.

Then, when you can take it again - you start studying again, just in case.

But my hubby and fam is forcing me to give it a rest for awhile.

The stuff is sinking in the ol' head. That was good news.

Take care and thanks!

5. I remember when I passed it...
All I could feel was that a sniper took aim at me and missed. :)

7. Congratulations!!
Get some extremely well-deserved rest. I've heard the waiting is truly the hardest part.

I'm gearing up to take the Texas bar exam in July.

9. I will never forget waiting for the results the day they were to arrive
I was so scared. I remember opening the letter and collapsing in tears. My daughter said, "I thought you were supposed to be happy when you passed." The waiting was so stressful--a job was dependant on my passing.

Five years later--and swamped in student loans I wonder what possessed me to think this was a good idea!

Congrats!

10. Congrats and relax - You'll find out soon enough
The fact you felt good about it is a good sign. I passed the CA bar almost 20 years ago and I still remember the Thanksgiving with 3 of us at the table knowing we were going to get the results the next day.

11. Maat, I love you! God bless you!
We were praying for you. Surely God was and is with you.

Check out thread about "I have my statue of Ganesha here."

I saw M. Shawn Copeland, the womanist Catholic theologian and professor at Boston College, at our Religious Studies Circle on Feb 22. She was brilliant about the vocation of the theologian. She knows the city of Boston in and out. She is very pro-gay and thinks that racism is linked to heterosexism.

She had a great anedote: "Who is the scapegoat of the year? Jesse Jackson went to a meeting of Baptist preachers the other day. Someone brought up gay marriage. He asked, 'How many of you get requests for gay marriage.' And there was silence. Yes, they are probably afraid (acknowledging my comments), but Jackson asked, 'Well, why is it an issue?' I mean why's it an issue!?"

Copeland said, "We much create the context for the Reign of God." I love her.

21. Thanks.
And let's pray for peace.

But let's not stress over what we can't change.

Some things we can, though.

19. I wanted to cry after I finished taking the bar exam
And I'm a big macho prick! }(

I had no idea how well I did.

After I heard that the results were posted at my law school, I rushed up there and before I made it to the door a kind and merciful friend ran up to me and said, "You passed." OMG, what a relief.

But don't feel bad if you don't pass, Maat. As you know better than I, that California exam is a protectionism BITCH, is it not? That wasn't the case in my state when I took the exam.
