The Ring II has been made.
Hope it's as good as the first.

1. It was actually made a long time ago
Twice. In Japanese and Korean. This is technically it's third re-make.

I hope it's good too. I've enjoyed all of the Ring incarnations. :-)

2. Yeah I know. Never did see Ringu.
I heard it was creepier than the English version.

4. Hard to say if it was creepier
Different. Both had their good points. Ringu was more supernatural and had a lot of Japanese myths tied into the story. The imagery in the US version, particularly the scene on the ferry, was amazing.

The Korean versions were made for TV, so I didn't think they were comparable to either the US or Japanese versions.

I'll be glad to be able to compare Ring 2 to the Japanese version. I'm sure that task will give me hours of fun and enjoyment. ;-)

5. I'd heard that they'd finally been translated into English
Though I'm not sure that I really want to read them. Apparently, the books are very into the "virus" concept of transmission and get very technical. I've been told they could benefit from a good editor.
