Anybody else stoked about Rickey Henderson back in MLB?
I'm no Dodgers fan, but what the hey, I love Rickey, and I tip my hat to the Dodgers for seeing talent and giving Rickey the chance. I think he'll do them well and probably break a couple more records along the way, given the chance to play.

1. This is definently his last season
But I am glad to see him back. I remember seeing him at the Coliseum back in the early 80's.

2. Arguably one of the two best players currently playing the game.
Not that he's the best now, but one of the two best in terms of their entire careers who are still playing. The other being Bonds, of course.

How old is Ricky, now? Imagine if Bonds plays as long...

5. I have been a Henderson fan since his rookie year
I picked him as my favorite player because he blew bubbles (gum)
when he rounded the bases instead of chewing tobacco. Back then
it was very rare for a player not to chew tobacco ..I was twelve
his rookie year and he played for my team The A's ...

7. no
He should accept the fact that he is an old geezer and just freakin' retire already. He will only embarrass himself.

Anyone who started their MLB career in the 70's should STAY RETIRED.

Not stoked at all.

If he had retired a Mariner, after having a respectable geezer year, I'd be nicer. :-)

8. Wow, that's evil!
Wanting someone to retire a Mariner? I'd hate to get into a knife fight with you, you're tough!

Seriously, though, I like what he's doing. Very Bull Durham-ish.

11. you are right
I am an evil sonofabitch.

That being said, check his stats from his season with the Mariners, they were damn good for someone on AARP's mailing list. He sucked when he went down to San Diego the following season, and his storied career ended with a whimper, not a bang.

Incidentally, Henderson was happy with Seattle. He couldn't say the same with a lot of teams he was with. They treated him well, and he mellowed sufficiently as to not cause anything in the way of friction.

10. I actually agree
Ricky, like Bonds, is a tremendously talented player but both suffer from inflated egos that quite frankly make it very hard for me to root for.
Ricky is more out there for Ricky's sake, not for the team's sake.

9. Ricky's gotta be one of the most likable players ever
and what a base stealer! Of course, hard not to like him next to an ass like Canseco! I am glad he's coming back!

12. Christ, no
The guy needs to retire. He's had it. He's not going to hit any more than around .200, he doesn't have his speed anymore...why does he keep playing and why do idiots keep signing him?
