4. I decided to try the chicken and mushroom phyllo pie.
The idea of moist chunks of chicken and perfectly-sauteed mushrooms with herbs and spices inside a flaky pastry crust really appealed to me this morning.

Regrettably, this "pie" consisted of withered, black mushrooms and gristly "odds'n'ends" of the chicken, with a few I-ain't-gonna-say-they-were-"dumpling-like"-'cause-I-ain't-never-ate-a-dumpling-that-hard BALLS of wadded-up phyllo dough thrown in for good measure.

This entire concoction was then submersed in a thin, tan, yet overpoweringly dilly, gelatinous mucus. Making it more an aspic than a pie.

I know I've made this dish sound revolting -- but oddly enough, it was ten times worse.
