Korn Guitarist Finds God, Leaves Band
NEW YORK (Billboard) - Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has parted ways with the hard rock act, citing a recent religious awakening.

Welch broke the news Sunday on Bakersfield, Calif., station KRAB-FM.

"I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."

Addressing the aggressive tone of the music he made with Korn, Welch said, "Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to Korn, good, but there's happiness after the anger. I'm going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans."

Reminds me of a saying...Another sucker is born-again every minute. I bet he turns into a fundamentalist and starts appearing on 700 Club and TBN. That would be hilarious.

From the Korn website: "Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian Head Welch, who has chosen the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end..."

So, you enjoy deriding people for making choices in their faith?

9. It was just a joke.
Besides, to me, "born-again" has that kool-aid kommunion feel to the fundamentalist stripe of Christianity. Admittedly, I don't know the nature of his "religious awakening", but if it's that, then yes, I am deriding him for his choice in faith.

11. No shit.
They are such a joke. Korn is Led Zeppelin compared to Good Charlotte.

13. i 'm not a korn fan, but i do give the props for stylizing this new breed
of nu-metal crap. at least they did it first.

on a side note, i remember watching some late night video show on some station years ago and they played limp bizkit's "couterfit" video (a song of their first album before they became super famous) and i remember thinking, "boy this sucks, what a gimmick, there is no way these guys are going anywhere". boy was i wrong.

10. Hey, me too!
Even though Korn sucks, awhile ago I would've offered him a trade. OK, I'll be the guitarist, you can have God. Deal? Deal.

12. I recall that George Harrison followed the Lord Krshna
with no deleterious effects on his music. I wish Brian the best.
