4. That's true...thanks
She was still driving at 90--she even had her cataracts removed. That side of the family was always a pack of firebrands.

And at least it was of old age--she didn't have any kind of disease.

I was lucky to have known two of my great-grandmothers.

It's amazing that she was still driving at 90.

7. I'm sorry!
My Grandma died 2 years ago at 99 as well.

It was a good age to die, I guess, and she had a pretty good life, so I remember the happy days. She was a great lady!

My sympathies are with you!

10. Hugs - sorry for your loss
99 is good though! I lost my 83 year old dad last month, and I thought that was good age-wise. It's hard to lose them, but imagine what they've seen change...

11. Hugs and I'm sorry..
and if it helps any, I'll tell you the thought that helped me get over my own grief: that hole in your heart is a badge of honor for her and a place to put your own gratitude, for the gift of having had someone special in your life for so long. Every time it hurts, recognize that it's because you were given something so precious.

She's in a better place.

13. I'm really sorry
I lost my last great-grandmother 15 years ago (boy does it make me feel old to type that!) and I remember feeling like I had lost a link to my heritage. It's a real gift to be able to get to know and spend time with family.

I'm sorry for your loss.

15. I'm sorry Arkana.
You were lucky to have had her in your life!
It sounds like she had a decent quality of life for someone of 99 years.
I hope your family is doing okay.

18. I never fully appreciated my grandmother until I became a grandma
Now I think about her all the time, because now I have the job she had with me: helping to raise my grandkids, loving them beyond words, worrying about them maybe more than their own loving parents, thinking about them almost every hour of the day. I never really knew these things until I took up residence in her shoes. You are very sweet for honoring your greatgrandmother by your loving words.
